How to Safely Ship a Package!

More and more packages are being sent out each year. With that, it’s crucial that your parcel arrives safely at its destination. But how do senders make sure this happens? In this article, we’ll take you through the different shipping steps so your package can arrive without harm.

Packaging material
One essential thing to consider is the right type of packaging material. Remember little to no wiggle room is better to help avoid items from shifting in transit.

Common packaging includes:
– Cardboard boxes
– Bubble mailers
– Polybags
– Envelopes / paper mailers

Cushioning material
Fragile products need a little more protection to prevent it from becoming damaged. There are various types of filler material that you can use to ensure your product arrives in the same condition. Filler material can also help with filling empty voids in your packaging.

Here are some cushioning materials suggestions:
– Tissue paper
– Bubble wrap
– Packaging peanuts
– Shredded paper
– Cardboard / Styrofoam inserts

Sealing
Once placing your documents and items in the packaging, along with the filler material, you need to seal everything up. For boxes, there are various tapes that can be utilized as long as the box stays shut.

Bubble mailers, polybags and envelopes typically have their own adhesive strip that you can pull off and seal.

Shipping it out
We’re almost done! All you have to do now is pay for postage, print off your shipping label and stick it on your packaging. You can print your labels on sticker paper or print it on regular paper and stick on it with tape. One thing to keep in mind about printing on regular paper is the risk of it becoming wet while in transit.

Once you have completed all the steps, you can now ship out your package! Happy shipping!
